You will arrest me because of the color of my skin
You will hop out with your partners in your undercover cars the minute you see a group of black men together

... You will stereotype me because I choose to wear a hoodie to keep warm but will tolerate members of the KKK to conceal their entire face
You will shoot me as I reach for my brush or skittles to eat
You will lock me up just to meet your quota at the end of the night
You say your job is to serve and protect
But it seems as though its to abuse and neglect
I have been a victim of your nonsense and I will continue standing up for myself
I am a rebel by nature, my heart craves pain
Nothing and no one can stop me from expressing myself
I am like no other
And I will die knowing I stood for something that will benefit our future children
Yes , when you see me, you see a strong black man
And yes this may be the reason you may be a bit intimidated
But just know when you look at me
