A TRUE SOLDIER by Jemeil Money Meil

       At 21 years of age, Jason Henry, a young black male with goals, a Brooklyn resident was shot and killed due to his loyalty to a friend/associate that may not have honestly needed it. With my own personal conversations and  interractions with Jason, i can honestly say that i was very proud to see this young black man striving to be SOMETHING in life. Majority of the times i've seen Jason, he was either heading to work, going to school or accompanied with a female.He was either going home or leaving home. He was not the street type, he seemed to have led by example, very humble, laid-back, not being something he is not. Jason was truly a unique individual and hopefully his loss may open the eyes of many.
       At times we do not know why things happen to us, why must we suffer, why must we feel such pain, but if we look at the bigger picture in this situation, Jason died like Jesus, he died helping a person that i myself has had issues with, a person that is immature and loud and completely BARK BUT NO BITE. Jason, as well as many others, as well as myself has talked to this individual numerous upon numerous times. His friend/associate just never seemed to listen. He was a knucklehead, a person that always wanted to be heard, but could never face his own battles. However, i still pray for that individual.  Obviously, no matter how we may have seen things, Jason still remained a TRUE FRIEND to this individual.

       Im quite sure this situation that has caused the life of a great young man, a situation that his friend/associate called/text Jason in the wee hours of the morning, had nothing to do with MONEY, TERRITORY, or VIOLATING FAMILY. However, this friend/associate felt it was sooo important to get Jason involved, calling Jason to handle his battles, taking complete advantage of a precious life from Jason.This friend did not appreciate Jason, he took advantage. He may have instigated the whole situation and felt that Jason would bail him out. Well, if you dont believe me, i speak from experience, i speak from observing, i speak wisdom, and before i decided to write this article, i did my own research, so please, you be the judge after you read the following....Rest in Peace Jason, you will be truly missed, and your name will not be forgotten...you are indeed a TRUE SOLDIER!!!
